Hi,
Have noticed a loud buzzing noise as I turn off the ignition. Had thought that it was an immobiliser but now find that it's coming from the stepper motor.
Does this happen on your cars, or is the stepper packing in?
Thanks.

Probably the stepper resetting its position. Fairly normal.

Oooo - it's been a while since my last:

"They all do that, Sir!"

When I first got my Griff, I worried for quite a while what that was - most prominent when you turn the ignition to "on", to get the boot open, and then take the key out again!

Guess it's doing what it's supposed to!

I wondered what that was!! Ours only seems to do it if the ignition is switched on (to open the boot for example) and then off without starting.

Chose to put the slight concern in the "ignore it and it`ll go away" category

That sound is normal and is a good sign that the stepper motor is still working, I assume you normally don't hear it when you switch off because of the noise from the engine as it spins down.

just saved me asking a question. 4 months of TVR ownership and not one niggle or fault so far (touching a very big piece of wood).

Car is at Fernies tomorrow having it's sports exhaust fitted, can't wait for the home

That's the buzz at the back...

...then there's the buzz of the return fuel valve, like a bee in a jam jar....

...then there's a louder, more mechanical, almost graunchy buzz from under the bonnet - that's the stepper!

See - I might not know much, but I know my TVR buzzes!!!!
