Clutch problem?

Anyone got any ideas if my clutch is on its way out, ive only recently noticed it, when depressing the clutch the resistance isn't smooth, so the clutch judders a bit on its way in. Its fine on the way back out though.
Just spent a fortune fixing various other issues, hope this isnt another 'project' for me.
Anyone got any suggestions as to the cause/fix and if im at risk of having to call out the nice man from the RAC again?

Could be the clutch master or slave cylinder, or the actuating fork. Might not be a full clutch job! Clutch cylinders are a commodity part on Chimaeras and Griffiths I'm afraid.

Hmmmm.... a contaminated/knackered pressure plate by the sound of it.. if there were failiures in the slave/master cylinder setup you'd more likely be struggling to get gears at all, rather than feeling a juddering on release of the clutch.

Clutch itself is fine, when it goes, I will replace the seal at the same time.

Told it is nothing major to worry about. It is engine oil contamination so just keep an eye on oil levels.

Thanks, no problems getting into gear at all, Ill wait till service/mot timje (may) to get it looked at then.

Is it when you depress the pedal? If so, check the carpet isn't fouling the pedal movement.

A very common problem, especially if it's the ribbed bit of the rubber mat that's catching...
