I might be being stupid here but do either of you have windscreen cover on your insurance ??
I would suggest that possibly a very nasty person has damaged your windscreen and you need to make a claim. Insurance company can then arrange for nearest available fitter to do said work with you paying window excess only !! No need for you to do legwork, that's what insurance companies are for !!

It depends on how big the stone is that you throw at it!

doesn't - Hampshire mate, not old enough to live in Sussex yet. 
Al is right though. I had mine done at Fernhurst and wouldn't go anywhere else. They did have some trouble with poorly manufactured screens but are such perfectionists kept on at it.
DO NOT ACCEPT YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY SAYING YOU MUST USE AUTOWINDSCREENS!
Tell your insurance compnay it is a specialist handbuilt sports car (because they probably don't realise) and you will be taking it to a TVR Specialist.
Although with Auto Windscreens in Chesterfield, they actually have someone who is a bit of a TVR specialist - used to do all the windscreens for a TVR dealer, so has a bit of experience with them.
They also had an issue with the first screen not being the right size (and so they couldn't fit it), but the second screen was right and they took 2 days getting the rubber trim completely flat with no puckering at the corners.

I had mine replaced by Autoglass 
via my insurance company after a piece of branch fell out of the sky and hit the windscreen whilst driving along causing a huge crack...a nanosec later and it would have landed in the car (or on me 
) as I was topless at the time!
It was fitted without any problems and seems fine. Should I be worried now?
