Im a new owner only had it 2 days and the dash lights don't work. Checked the fuses all Ok. Any ideas?
Small round button on left hand side of steering wheel about 8 inches back from the dash face underneath.
If you press that when the lights are on, do they come on?
Button plotloss is describing is in a similar position to the boot release button, but on the left side of the steering column.

Switch to turn dash lights on and off is a bit strange. Do I need to turn them on and off?

Turn the dash lights off and its a LOT easier to see...
