Mark,

My car just recently went in for a service and they discovered I had lost rivets on mine. I think it's a fiarly big job to remove and replace ensuring that everything is aligned. Not much use to you, but I had it done by austec who are in Crawley.

Mine's only held on by 1 or 2 rivets - the others have all rusted through and/or snapper!

Just needs re-riveting. Something my dad can do... which is nice.

I had exactly the same thing - the black pod-thingy that the bolts are bonded into can be replaced - they cost £15 from a dealer I got HHC to remove the old one and fit, mine cost under £100 inc labour and the dreaded VAT , which was a relief as I thought it was new bonnet time
