Driving/Spot Lights

Due to the wonderful headlights on my Chimaera I am considering fitting some driving/spotlights into the grill. I have found some 100mm round driving lamps that should fit in the area at each edge but I was wondering had anyone tried this or know of any likely problems?

Only thing I can think of is it might restrict or divert airflow to the rad and cause temp probs

I was toying with the idea of fitting small hella spots into the old indicator holes as my indicators are now up on the wing. Got some nice small inoffensive spots on the hella website.

If you close off the area inboard of the lamps so as to creat a duct to the rad it could actually improve cooling! What you need is a smooth airflow from the front of the grill ducted back to the face area of the rad. Make sure the lamps are sealed all round so there's nowhere for airflow to get behind. Bend up some al. alloy sheet and secure with rivets, then seal it all in with silicone (rather than filler).
