I always power wash my wheels as it tends to clean them well with the aid of trade Autoglym wheel cleaner. If you apply it to the insides of the wheels a jet washer will blast most of the brake dust off in there as well.
Would never use high pressure on the body of the chim, disconnect and rinse with the hose at normal mains pressure.
That said I do pressure wash my golf and that has painted wing mirrors and bumpers and never experience a problem. Or with any other colour-coded car in the past.
I should add that my pressure washer is the cheapest, so I assume, lowest pressure washer you can buy.

The pressure washer we have has two nozzles. One super-high pressure one and an angled one at lower pressure for doing under the car. I use the angled low-pressure one on the entire car and it's fine. Much better than a standard hose.
Failing that, the high-pressure ones sometimes have an adjustment for the pressure and spray pattern at the tip.
