New Owner - Still smiling but need some help!!!

Hello guys & girls! Just bought my first TVR, a Silver 97 Chim & it is a sexy as hell (makes Jenifer Aniston look well ropey).

Anyway I am after a little bit of info.

Can anyone recommend a good TVR specialist for servicing, not as I hear they just rip people off (I am in North Kent). Also can the alarm sensor be adjusted as it tends to go off when anything noisier than a hairdryer goes past it. One last thing, I am interested in going to a few TVR meetings so if anyone knows where the nearest one is to me that would also be great. I am in the Medway Towns.

Sorry, can't answer any of your questions, but welcome to PH and welcome to TVR and Chim ownership. Had mine for just over a year and still grin when the right foot assumes command from the brain !!

Hi Lewis and welcome.

Firstly you are in the right place for info. I have been a member now for around 8 month and have used this formum loads of times.

I am also in north kent in Bexley. I recently had my first service done and I used Austec in Crawley. they have exclellent reviews on here, and they do live up to it, they were really good. Web site is www.austec.co.uk. They were doing a special of 6000 mile service + rolling road report for £250 +vat when I had mine serviced earlier this month.

With regard to Kent meets, I asked the same question a few months ago, so have a look at www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?f=65&h=&t=51482 . This wil give details. I have not been along to a meet yet but do intend to go at some point.

Enjoy the car and be carfull of the loud pedal in the wet they step out very quickly.

to answer your question i believe the alarm can be adjusted best go to an alarm dealer. the nearest tvr region club is mid kent they meet 1st sunday of the month at the white horse in sandway, or the 3rd wednesday of the month at the windmill hollingbourne. small club with few events.
or the se london nw kent who meet at the rose and crown dunton green 4th monday evening of the month or the 1st sunday of the month same venue. lots of events planned this year

mid essex meets are well attended and just through the tunnel (mmmm, tun-el) from you, search for "mid-essex" or one of them should be along in a minute!

i am booked in for my first Austec experience on Friday.

Try and move into an area with lots of Boxsters that should resolve the alarm problem.......
