Hey all, now had the 4.0 chim for a year and am booking it in for it's 6000 mile service, want to spend a little money on just improving it slightly, i'm pretty happy with the speed element on it so I'm thinking suspension or brakes (or just getting them to whip out the baffles in the exhaust :-)
whats your thoughts, opinions and recommendations!?

.... you see that slope - you are about to slide down it and once you start there is no turning back...
Been there and just about managed to stop so far. But be warned, once you start - the money just keeps going and going....
Oh, and to answer the question - I would go for suspension and brakes to start with. It transforms the car and makes it so much more "chuckable". It doesnt need to be a fortune, but if you do the suspension, its worth getting the bushes sorted out (chances are they need replacing anyway) and you have a couple of choices for the shocks. Get it set-up correctly and its transformation is amazing. Brakes could be something as simple as better pads - but again four pot calipers make a massive difference....
Once thats done I would turn to the engine and get that looked at. But thats where the big money goes and it does get expensive then. But hey, its all the fun of owning a TVR in the first place!

Devil's advocate mode, unless there are particular areas of the car that you want to improve, my advice is leave it as standard and spend the money on the driver (i.e. on-track training). The cars are don't have any particular weak spots when they leave the factory and the driver is normally the weakest point. Plus driver upgrades are far more fun than handing cash over to your mechanic, and will stand you in good stead whatever car you drive.
