airflow meter problems

Finally found my missing bhp…....air flow meter.
Got a chance to borrow one from local garage and off I went for a test drive, after a couple of gear changes the grin was back.
Anyone come across any companies who can recon / repair /calibrate these units? Or is a new one the only option

When you had a duff airflowmeter, how was the reacting to this, was it running flat?? spluttering?? Mis-firing??

just wondering as my chim isnt running too smooth.
