Sucking on shutdown

Hi,
Just to check,
Does everyone else's Chimaera make a loud sucking noise when you shut the engine down / turn off the ignition? Mine has always done this.

mine does this too, was a bit worrying at first.

Do you have air-con? When the compressor stops, the system pressures eaqualise and you can hear some 'hiss' from this.

My Griff makes a sort of fan belt noise when you turn it off but I assumed that was because the bottom pulley stops very quickly and the belt slips for a second while it slows down? Does this sound similar?

No, air con not fitted.
It's not a fan belt noise either.
It sounds like someone sucking through a big pipe (which is what an engine does I know!) but why only when you turn the key off - what changes.
If they 'all do this sir' then I'll not worry. It's just she's not running A1 and I wondered if this was an indication of an air leak somewhere (plenum?) ?

I always though that sucking sound was the car heaving a sigh of relief that I've let the poor thing have a bit of a rest.

Would it not be induction, which will carry on for a couple of seconds while the engine winds down, with no ignition, there will be no combustion, and no exhaust noise which is why the induction noise becomes prominent.
