Steering Rack Gaiter

Just noticed my offside steering rack gaiter (outboard end) is missing the retaining clip.

A couple of questions:

1. Should it have one?

2. If so, what size should it be & can I use an ordinary jubilee clip as opposed to the slimer version fitted on the other side?

I've just replaced the offside steering rack gaiter and it had an inboard and outboard clip. The inner one was a large ring with bent up ends that are bolted together. The outer one was more like the conventional hose clip. I guess anything would do that prevents muck getting in there. The thing to watch with the outer one is that whatever you use doesn't foul any chassis or suspension components over the full travel of the steering and suspension positions.
