Well while starting to fix this little problem another has raised it's ugly little head
While doing final checks to make sure the alternator was still on strike, I was round the front with racedad at the controls, 'turn the lights on', shout I, and when the reply came back 'is the button s'posed t go in that far?' I knew it wasn't a good sign
The 3 button section with headlight/sidelight/fog light on had dissappeared down the back of the dash 5 minutes later the radio was out but neither of us could get our fat hands in far enough to bend it back, it appears to be held on the left hand side (nearest the radio hole) by 2 small screws but the right hand side is free
So how do I get it back where it should be

The panel was originally held by two screws left & right of radio. The light buttons are mounted on metal sub-frames which "hook" onto fingers "glued" onto back of panel. Likewise the hazard button on the other side.

You need to remove panel and re-glue fingers (probably). I've used aralidite before.

Fraid so - then you'll see how "woody" it is NOT. Probably find "other" things in the void.....including lots of g fibre dust!!

So,
