To big for the Chimaera

Well I have test drove a few now and the last one I was able to throw around a bit. I am not the smallest guy but not the tallest either. OK 6'0" tall and 18 stone Now before you all think its all on the gut only half of it is. I find when the door is shut I dont have much room for my right arm to manover (if you know what I mean) For a car with so much power I feel you need total control and I feel restriced. I also found my knee was hitting the steering wheel adjuster.

Is there any other big Chimaera drivers and if so how do you cope.

PS this WILL be my daily drive.

I've got a very good mate who is 27 years old, nearly 6'5" and approx. 18 stone. I've promised him a ride in my Chim and he's looking forward to it immensely but now you mention that being a little on the large size may be a problem, I'm beginning to wonder if he'll fit!

he'll fit, it will be a bit tight as the passenger footwell is smaller.... You could let him drive

6' 3" and 15 stone. No problems at all.

6'-1", 16.5 stone. The car fits me fine. Move the seat back and adjust the pedals.

6'5" and 16 stone and happily fit into mine! You mentioned a steering wheel adjuster...??? Strange, never had a problem with mine! Suggest a couple of things:

1) Check that the seat is fitted to the runners correctly (and not on a shim or moved forward)
2) Check the pedals are on a normal setting and not set high or at a strange setting
3) Check the steering wheel is at the highest lift point

Granted its cozy rather than roomy, but I can get much more comfortable in a TVR than in a Boxster, Z3, MX5 etc etc.... significantly more space and room....

If you feel cramped in a Chimeara and I am 6' 3" and 18+ stone and manage well enough. Then try an S3 or better still a V8S. There is a lot more cockpit room in these.

I find that my right shoulder is hard against the drivers door of my Chimaera, but it is something that you get used to. Also buy some Leven pedals as this helps you to get more comfortable.

Lifes a lot more comfortable when the sun shines, you can lower the hood and wind down the windows.

Also 6'3" and 16 stone and it's a perfect fit, in fact this was one of my reasons for purchasing my Chim in the first place!

Same size as me then - 6' 3" and 18 and a bit stone.

I find a Chim a "snug" fit...

Well I'm still looking at the chimaera (lost over a stone ) LOL not just for a car though.

A lexus soarer 2.5TT. with about 400BHP but I still thought the Chim would walk it.

I know on the bends there is still no contest.

Is there any extra things on the 5ltr Chim to look at over the 4???

I'm bigger than everyone mentioned so far and I don't have a problem in mine either. They are good cars for big blokes.

With a "five foot sex", that dispels all the suggestions of why men buy cars with long bonnets ...
