Hi Snorky,
I did this very job on mine at the weekend, do a search and you'll find plenty of stuff on the subject.
Or buy a 'Bible'

Basically the metal speaker grille bit prizes off to leave the plastic surround, the screws can then be found and removed. Prize out the ashtray to reveal a self tapping screw and remove this..easy peasy !!!

Now the hard bit, reach inside the door and feel around for some nuts..ooh err missus... there should be one just beside the speaker hole to the front of the door, one slightly higher between the speaker hole and ciggie lighter (on drivers door of course) and one right behind where the lighter is. This is on a 94 Chim, I believe later models had a forth bolt somewhere slightly higher and further back towards the rear of the door.

These nuts can all be removed with a 10mm spanner, be prepared for scratched arms (that's if can fit your arms in the door, up past the elbow !!) and dropped nuts and washers (I found no less than 7 washers in my doors from previous attempts )

The surround can then be removed by pulling the armrest out to clear the bolts then pushing it up to un-hook it from the top of the door after uplugging the electric mirror and lighter wiring, taking note of the connections. The remaining carpety bit is simply held on by self tappers at various points..

I actually found the drivers door card easier to remove than the passenger side for some reason.

Job done !! you can replace the nuts with wingnuts to aid future removal if you wish...

Good luck and keep the swear box handy...

Stu.
