This is a twin plenum off a Rover SD1 Vitesse, right?

Firstly, are you totally sure it would fit on a TVR V8? Yes, they share the same block, but TVR Power have seriously changed a lot of stuff over the years.

And secondly, would there actually be any performance gains?

Don't forget that ACT do twin and triple throttle bodies for the Rover V8. Could it be one of those rather than the Vitesse one?

I'm sure you are right, it's just that the V8 in the Rover SD1 was 3.5L and a Chimaera 500 or Griff 500 is obviously 5.0L and will therefore need a whole lot more air than the SD1 would have needed. I would be concerned that a twin plenum from an SD1 would be retrogressive step.

However, I'm happy to be corrected by someone who knows for sure.

this is half the problem with the tvr v8, all the breathing components are from the 3.9 so at 4.5/5.0 its struggling to breath futher up the rev rang, hence why the act plenums give good top end improvements.

lol yup .. power is compromised at the point at which the airflow runs out on the std stuff, obviously it can *suck* harder on a restricted inlet, and won't make any less power until the point at which the rstriction becomes the limiting factor. but if you increase the airflow needs eg by larger capacity the point at which the std stuff becomes restrictive occurs earlier in the rev range. about 2.2 cubic feet per minute airflow per horsepower .. can't remember the pressure drop though, 25 inches of water rings a bell (10 inches mercury?) .. anyway auction over so no point now

Jigs, Don't know myself but I know a woman who does, will get some directions. I won't be back till late friday night so was only going to go on Sunday.
Still pissed at missing mondays trackday, but at least it should be all ready for the next one.
