Mark Adams Chip
Discussion
I know that Mark Adams works at Tower View, and that he has re-chipped some cars to improve engine perfomance. Can anyone tell me about what it will cost me for a new chip and serious tune up?
I was seriously thinking about taking my car to him for some "investigative" work, but Fernhurst found a bad temp sensor that was causing my existing chip to feed the engine too much fuel.
I also switched to Optimax, and what a difference !! It put the grin back in my weekend.
My Chim 450 now runs quite good at lower RPM... burbling along at 30 mph in fourth gear

Surely the answer is if you want to help then do so, if not then don't? I've never understood the precious logic that dictates you don't dare mention on a forum something that's been discussed previously when you weren't around. If that applied to work or the pub or anywhere else, there would be very little interaction would there

I didn't mean to sound patronising or precious - if that's how it came across, I'm sorry.
It's more of a general point that people on this site, other sites and more widely tend to ask rather than take a quick ten-second look around. Which I hope is what I'd do and expect others to do first.
In this particular case though, you're right and I'm wrong: the link to Oily Pages is not obvious and I've asked Ted if he can do something about it.

Chirs, Know how you feel - On my first ever post I got told off by Trefor... Who as it happens seems to be a v.helpful guy. Liked the witty no. plate gag!
BTW Is anyone going to the Hurdlemakers arms this sunday? I will need a friendly face as I have never been to a meet before and I want to pick up some tips before I buy mine next month...
Cheers,
TC

Dunno about serious tune up, but I just had one of his "off-the-shelf" Tornado chips fitted to my Chimaera 450 & I'm very impressed. Obviously this isn't going to be as good as a session with the man himself, but I'm in Scotland, so I didn't think that I would drive all the way down.
It has improved my car's idling & also improved its' acceleration from 4000RPM - in an unscientific test it now accelerates a fair bit quicker than my mates Griff 500, especially in 4th (both cars about 1.5 years old, similar mileages)
This cost £350 plus VAT & for me was well worth the money - obviously your mileage may vary
cheers,
Craig
