The ultimate shootout at Santa Pod in July has proven to be very popular with over 50 cars already listed to attend and run the 1/4 mile.

I had a reply from Shakespeare County Raceway detailing the option of track rental.

Its somewhat more expensive per person but we would have a limited number of cars running the track for 6 hours plus. There would be more than enough time to run dozens of times, weather or certain people emptying their coolant on track permitting.

If we could get 50 cars of our own or 25 + 25 from another club then it would work out around £75 per head.

TRACK RENTAL DAYS
If you are a member of a car club or other organization interested in racing at
Shakespeare County Raceway, then we may have just the thing you are looking
for. Our ‘Closed to Club Track Rental Days’ is designed to give the ordinary ‘off
the street’ car enthusiast a place to race.
Since most street racers are not members of clubs, we try to promote an
organized, safe and friendly atmosphere that demonstrates the advantages of
racing at a professionally run track. Track Hire Fees for racing effective for all
hires for the 2010 season. Shakespeare County Raceway reserves the right to
alter any prices, condition of hire or services without prior notice.
Exclusive Car Club Events (Non event weekends)
Up to 25 Cars = £1995 + VAT
Up to 50 Cars = £2995 + VAT

• Secondary drivers will also be required to pay an additional fee of £35.00

each payable on the day.
Hire Includes:
Drag racing Portatree Timing System measuring quarter
mile elapsed time and terminal speed from standing start to 60 feet, 330 feet,
1/8 mile and speed, 990 feet and quarter mile. The system also provides drivers
reaction times from the starting tree of lights positioned at the start line. Above
Hire Fees includes the use of the drag strip between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm,
Paramedic, Fire Crew and Marshals. For every additional hour outside of this
time slot there will be an additional charge of £100 per hour. The hire fee is
payable before the hire date with cleared funds.
Type of Track:
66 feet wide quarter of a mile straight line drag strip with ample shutdown/runoff
areas. Return roads are positioned to the right of the runway. Armco safety
barriers are positioned on each side of the drag strip.
Track Rental Day Approval:
Does your club plan to run an Eliminator? How many
entries? Qualified or invitational? Match races only?
Open to outside entries? Are you running a regional
or national day? Will you have a Club versus Club
race?
Road Sweepers for Track Drying etc:
Hire charge £27+VAT per hour. Minimum charged 3 hours and is required to be
booked 7 days in advance.
Track Prep & Traction Compound:

Jet Dryer Hire: (Optional)
Track Jet Dryer can be hire at an additional charge of £850 per hour or part
there of with a minimum hire time period of 30 minutes.
Generator Hire to run Score Boards: (Optional)
Hire of generator £130+VAT per day. Fuel will be charged according to usage,
and will be required to be booked 7 days in advance.
Catering Vans & Marquee Hire:

further information.
Drivers Briefing:
At the start of the day a Drivers Briefing lasting no
longer than 10 minutes will be provided covering start
line and track procedures.
Conditions of hire:
The Raceway’s Control Marshal on the day will deem if the track is fit for the
purpose. In cases of inclement weather conditions the hire fee is non refundable
1) If cancellation is made less than 30 working days before you will be charged
a 50% cancellation fee. If cancellation is made less than 20 working days before
you will be charged a 80% cancellation fee. If cancellation is made less than 7
working days before you will be charged in full. Booking fees will be confirmed
on receipt of a non refundable deposit of £500. Full payment will be due 14 days
prior to the event date.
2) The hire will indemnify Shakespeare County Raceway/Long Marston Airfield
and its agents, employees and marshals against any and every expense, liability,
financial loss, claim or proceedings whatsoever arising out of your use or nonuse
of Shakespeare County Raceway.
3) Shakespeare County Raceway/Long Marston Airfield will not be liable for any
delays caused by any circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
4) Shakespeare County Raceway/Long Marston Airfield will not be liable for any
indirect loss, profits or pecuniary advantage of any sort, wages, fees or expenses
due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
5) The use of helmets by all competing drivers is mandatory.
There will be no exceptions to this rule.
