A few questions on possible new car?

Hi all,

I have just had a look at a 1999 4.5 for sale. It is in lovely condition but there are a few questions that i would like to ask you guys!

1. The car has power steering but felt a bit harder to turn nearer the lock, and felt very light on a test drive. There was also a bit of judder at 70 - 90ish? (My current 4.0 has power steering but feels a bit different although it is 3 years older)?

2. The temperature when standing went up to 100 before the fans kicked in??

3. The driver’s door seems to have a bigger gap at the back than the passenger one? is this door alignment?

The owner went into the back of someone at a roundabout but said the bonnet was not damaged. So if the wing was hit could this have caused a chassis problem, hence causing the steering problem etc...?

He is an enthusiast and has kept the car very clean and well serviced etc... But I’m a bit concerned about these potential problems.

Any help would be appreciated.

You need to get the car on a garage hoist so that you can view it underneath to check for any damage and alignment problems. If in any doubt - walk away.

How about i speak to the TVR Garage that have serviced it? Would they be honest or know?
