Is it just at higher speeds? i.e. in 5th gear? About 60mph(ish?)
Just a guess or possibility, but I had a vibration coming from the back at higher speeds (also a judder when pulling away) and it was the start of one of the UJ's wearing out. The vibration was because it had sent the propshaft out of balance.

Any other ideas chaps??

I get a bit of resonance (sp?) at about 2200 rpm no matter what gear it is. If I floor it then it's much harder to spot.
This used to also make something metal at the back of the car rattle - I'm guessing the exhaust against the frame? The metalic rattling has stopped now
, but I can still hear/feeling the car resonate.
I think I've read on here before that this is relatively normal, and not anything more sinister! I hope so, anyway.

Only had my chim since Sunday but I was out last night in it after seeing this post I was listening out for it lo and behold at 2000 RPM I get a resonant vibration as well. Either side of 2000 RPM nothing. It happens in my polo at around 65 mph in 5th. Used to happen on the school bus as well.
If anyone knows any different and is something that needs rectifying let us know.

Diff bushes?

Sorry Corrin am inexperienced in all things mechanical can you expand on diff bushes. Ie full terminology so I can look up in the bible
There are a couple of metal cored rubber bushes that support the rear differential unit, when the rubber wears or perishes it can create some free play around the rear axle, you normally get a dull clunking as you change gear but it can also cause vibration.
