Does anyone else's speedo get below 15 mph then drop like a stone? If I am accelerating from rest it is fine but under braking towards lights it comes down smoothly then below 10 or 15 mph just drops away to zero even if the car is moving.

Is this a quirk of Chimaera's or do I need to get the dash off?

It might be the air-gap transducer that feeds the electronic speedo, I've had mine reset by Peninsula but still every now and again from the initial start up on the day it doesn't work for about 30 seconds then cuts in and is O.K. for the restof the day?!!!

Don't just get them to do it, get it checked first, I'm just trying to help with some advice... doesn't mean I'm right!!

Mines the same.

Nothing registers below around 20mph, then it "jumps into action".

Was going to get mine checked at the next service.

Mine's the same, nothing wrong with it as mine was a new sender fitted by Castles.

I think it depends how close the sensor is set to the toothed wheel.
If it is too close I think it can cause problems and give the sensor a hard time so is left back a bit.
As such, nothing happens under 15-20mph.

I could be speaking complete rubbish though, but as far as I am aware the speedo sounds normal to me.

Thanks guys will leave the speedo then as it is only under braking, will try and get to the bottom of the vibration @ 2000 RPM though. Well advise on the outcome.
