Need to get rid off Milky Windows

I've discussed this before but now it's really beginning to annoy me. Everytime I look at the car the milkiness just seems to jump out at me. I see other chims of a similar age and theres not many that have this horrible trait. It gives the impression that I don't look after the car.
...the only way to get rid of this (except from using black tape to hide it) is to replace the windscreen, so how much would this cost (without doing an insurance job)?

Bespoke TVR, as I said IIRC.

.Mark had a screen replaced recently, drop him a mail he should have some figures.

Al's right I did have it done. Insurance job though so no figures I'm afraid, but it is the thick end of £600 to have done not through the insurance according to the garage.
They are bespoke TVR jobbies and they broke 3 before getting mine right, the others we incorrectly made and so didn't fit properly. They can be tricky to get hold of too I'm led to believe.
I think as has been said, a nasty stone chip is the way to get these fixed.

No it's not. When Autoglass did mine (on a Cerbera but the Chimaera one was the same) they paid £212 for the screen from TVR. That's some mark up if they charge 600+!
Think you'll find the rest is labour and VAT. Can't sure, but as it was insuurance I won't loose sleep over it.

And I stood around for an hour whilst they fitted it. £388 for an hours labour and VAT? Anyway, as mentioned earlier, best bet is to wait for a stone to hit it then it'll cost 50 quid excess to replace...
morgala you are not a million miles from David Geralds in Worcs, who put a new screen in at considerably less than £600 when my more particular half told em she didn't want their car until the milky windscreen was sorted out. The reasonable price could well have been to secure the sale, but it may be woth a call. BTW, don't get paranoid about the condition of your particular screen compared to others you see....."they all do that sir"!!!

... however I know of a significant number of people who've had screens replaced by Autoglass and then had to have them re-done since they were'nt properly 'matched' to the car and leaked post replacement ... this doesn't happen if you go to a specialist.
However I am told the stonechip is the way to go (also not just for milky windows but for when the leather separates along the top edge) ... some places will even "put in" the chip for you if you ask nicely
