Ecu and loom moved above glovebox

Was never happy having the ecu loom and relays bouncing around the battery so tucked it all up above the glove box which is actually a really good fit with access easily available through the panel above the glove compartment.
A bit fiddly but I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to tidy up the spaghetti above the battery. Also mounted a battery cut off switch next to the fuse box for when the car gets put to bed for the winter.

Not quite as elegant as the moving the battery to the boot but the battery and fuse box are now much more accessible and personally I like the idea of having the electrics as far away from the petrol tank as possible Plus I think a smaller battery in the same position might just give enough extra leg room.

I've tucked mine up there too: initially just to get them out of the way for re-carpeting (the fuse block has gone to the passenger cubby-hole and the battery to the boot) but I've left them up there since.

I don't know what the Griffith offers, but the Chim's 'glovebox' offers little more than an elastic pocket of material:

Yes, it was quite easy.

I disconnected the battery and separated all the looms. If you undo the screws to open the glove hatch and reach your hand up and back towards you, you will feel the shape of the lower dash is ideal for holding the ecu loom. Here's the space without the ecu in place:

One thing to make sure of is that the loom is nowhere near where the glove compartment screws go. Last thing you want is to be fastening the hatch to the loom. I used flat ended screws to be double safe.

I tied the fusebox loom to the pipes running above and parallel with the foot-well (insulated to avoid the cables getting too hot.

The remainder of the fusebox loom will tuck up nicely in the space above and behind the fuse box.

The end result is a nice tidy space above the battery

Yes you would need to remove the ecu but the loom does not get in the way. The ECU is also easily accessible and can be unplugged in about 5 seconds once you open the glove hatch.
