Hello All, I wonder if you could help?

A freind's girlfriend has a 96 'P' Reg MGF that has suffered HGF. This is all I know about the car except also that it was for sale for around £1,000 before this happened.

The RAC bloke told her that to put right the problems would probably be as much as the car is worth, so my question is what are her options and does anybody have any bright ideas?

I am thinking:
1) Find and carry out the cheapest repair possible and try to sell.
2) Scrap and get what she can for it that way.
3) Consider breaking up and selling parts. I know it has good wheels and tyres and a newish roof so this helps, and from what I have seen was in good condition.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks. Is that for failures as well as pre-emptive changes?
