Good Luck to all the Guys 'N Gals competing in Round One of the Club & UK Cup @ Rockingham this weekend.

Here's hoping for the realisation of the good, close, hard but fair racing anticipated and promised by the new Class structures; no red mist/biduro style carnage please - may the most skilful and race-crafty pilots take this season's gongs, not the ones with the biggest crash, bang, wallop curing wallets!

See you there ........ it looks like it may actually be dry AND warm @ Rockingham ......... that'll be a first (for me anyhow)

Enjoy thumbup

Thanks fella's, what a superb weekend of weather to kick off the season, fortunately the somewhat expected carnage was mercifully absent too.....

All very close throughout the field with pretty much everyone getting a race & some great performances by the PR6 new comers, plus the usual suspects from last year all going well in new cars.

I'm very pleased to of broken my duck in club cup, hopefully I can now relax & enjoy the rest of the season a bit more, but its going to be hard work for everyone for sure!

Thanks for the great entertainment one & all!

Immediate memories are >

Just what I expected of 'Fast' Darren (but it's one thing for me to say it - and therefore potentially completely put the mockers on it! - and quite another for him to so calmly deliver such a superb double), likewise usual stunning pace from '100% Honest' Jon & 'Rapidly Getting The Measure of the SR3' Colin. Great stuff chaps, thanks, more please!

Especially pleased to see both the Marks both taking to the PR6 like ducks to water - just shows how good the honest old Clubbie is at teaching people how to drive! A very pleasing 1-1 draw!

For obvious reasons, Big Bugles for two debuting ROC Trackday Members, Paul M & Tim P.

Marshy should be going global tomorrow, when a currently online report gets corrected to read >

Paul Marsham did stunningly well in his lovingly prepared old model SR3 in his first ever Club Cup qualifier to takes fourth on the grid fractionally quicker than Mark Abbott in fifth in his first ever competitive outing in his ex JW PR6.

Yep, fourth yikes

Tim Porter likewise showed excellent pace and a natural aptitude & appetite for close quarter racing in his mildly uprated 1200 Clubbie in his first ever Club Cup qualifier to finish third and then second in Class.

The Invitation Class yikes

Also so good to see an overall lack of brain-out/resultant carnage although I did hear mentioned more than once the name of one person apparently acting a bit stupid, so perhaps to some extent an element of more by luck than judgement?

In my book, simply not acceptable, report to Amanda at 9.00am tomorrow morning, listen carefully, adopt or redcard

Guys, IMHO This is Not helpful.

30 mins are allowed at the end of each race for protests - after that it's all just history or gossip... and certainly not for anyone on this or any other forum to start aportioning blame, naming and shaming, warnings or punishment

And no it wasn't me - I wasn't even there guv' smile

Exactly the opposite of my intention Simon, so I'll be happy to edit my post (and this one) if that's the concensus - by all means feel free to use my PH email in strictest confidence if you agree that's the case.

I've always thought that the post race 30 minutes are about serious 'actuals' (like Driver X punted me off, suddenly swerved into my line on the racing line to stop me fairly gaining a place etc) rather than simply avoided stuff like "although both of us knew I was a lot quicker, it was clear to me that I would be risking my car / wellbeing the way Driver X was driving and behaving".

I think we need to be alert to the fact that especially while the economy remains so continuingly pxxs poor, there are a awful lot of drivers out there this season who are just about making ends meet, who simply will not be able to keep going if they get stuffed once or twice by a numpty as GK so eloquently puts it. OK, the risk of genuine six of one/half a dozen of the other racing incidents is simply an integral 'comes with the territory' part of the sport, but potentially getting taken out by a piece of crass stupidity (deliberate or innocent) is something much more difficult to take on board. Of course one can insure, but that costs a fair old amount of money.

No way will there be any naming of names by me; hopefully, the person whose name I heard mentioned by several different competitors will simply twig it is them and take on board the above about a lot of fellow competitors walking a very fine line costs-wise.

And despite one of the best disguises I have ever seen, I am happy to confirm that indeed it wasn't you Mr T wink
