Makes me glad i made the trip over last year to do the GP track with The club cup now :-)

I'd be happy to spend a weekend with a shovel, perhaps if enough racers, bikes and cars, got together it could be fixed pretty quickly. Racing has been there since the thirties, it should go on!

Some friends and business colleagues of mine had a meeting pretty recently with the current owners with a view to buying Dony, but the deal involves much more than just the track complex; it all got overly complicated so unfortunately (despite me giving it large) they decided not to pursue it any further.

Very much doubt we'll be seeing any racing there at all this year and the longer it lays dormant, the bigger the danger that we lose it all together.

Let's hope not: To my mind, for virtually everything except F1 (only a fool would have thought it suitable for that) it's one of the finest tracks in the UK, equally satisfying for cars and bikes and that's rare; can't remember anyone ever saying to me "I don't like Dony". Usually it's "Wow, what a fantastic track."

MCN at its usual scandalising best again. Glad they filmed it in the dark, wet and cold. They really are tts at that publication.

As much as I think Gilette should be strung up for all this crap (in fact he should never have been allowed to get this far), its hardly a bomb site is it? The infield viewing area and run offs need attention yes, the track actually isn't that bad.

I've no idea what if anything was done to the 'new' pit complex that was recently built. I understand their was never plans to rip that out anyway, so assume its funtional?

I'm sure someone will be along in a moment to explain to me just how bad it all is and its not viable to repair.

Fact is, even patched up with the holes filled in it'd be a far better surface than Pembrey, Croft or Mallory. It 'could' be up, running and generating income from Trackdays and club events. Although having lost Moto GP to a heavily re developed Silverstone, where's the big dollar impetus to make this happen?

I doubt their is actually the will to make this happen despite what the Wheatcroft estate may say in interviews.

I hope I am wrong about that.

Here's an alternative expansion of the tla 'WAG': Will (lack of), Avarice (too much of), Gullible (proven); pick any one or combination thereof and I suspect it'll be a winner.
