Hi, I am seriously considering getting into an 07 or 08 XKR convertible. However, I absolutely love the look of the revised front end from 09 onwards (with the side bumper vents)

Can I just buy a new front bumper (and if so, from where?), get it painted and fit it, or are there unknown differences to the lights, mounting points, wiring etc that means an upgrade is very difficult.

If this is possible (and I am sure it can be made possible by some of you), what else would I need to buy to complete the transition? What are the pitfalls that you may have fallen into if you have done this?

I've done it

This was a 2007 XKR

All you have to change is the undertray

I did an RS rear as well as the XK60 side sill covers

Looked a treat

Bizarre, I was just reading your thread on Jaguar Forums

Not sure I would go as far as the sideskirts etc, but that's just me.

Where did you get the revised front end from? A breaker, or a dealer?

And when you say change the undertray, what does that involve. I am not technically minded so would probably have to get someone to do it for me. How much did it

I managed to buy the front bumper on Ebay, got the lot with grills for £250 delivered

The undertray came from Jaguar, cost about £80, if you have to buy everything from Jaguar you are looking at about £1000 once you allow for paint.

Not hard to do

So there's no issies with the mounting pints or wiring for fron fogs or anything that will trip me up?

Sounds so simple I'm surprised more people don't do it.

Are Jag happy to sell the parts? They won't think I am mis-representing the vehicle?

No problems at all, no fog lights to worry about, Jag are more than happy to sell the parts, (they are a bit fussy about the RS bits), mounting points are all the same, it is as simple as changing an X100 front bumper from old to new (done that too many times I care to remember)

On a similar but reverse topic, if you get a X100 that someone has blinged up with a 'bodykit' front bumper can you specifically with a Paramount front grille and you want it back to standard, is that easy?

Most body kits are reversible (if not all)the main problem you get is how certain items have been fixed, On some grilles they were fitted to the bumper rather than the bumper beam, this could mean you might have a few holes to lose

That looks absolutely superb. Furthermore, it looks far better with your two twin exhausts than the XK60 does with the big rectangular ones.

That car looks great.

I just pit RS side skirts on my 57 plate XKR Convertible, jaguar supplied and fitted. However they would not supply the rear under valance. Can anyone help me here please~?
