I am looking for a roof rack for my 1998 X308 XJR. Can someone suggest what would fit?

Is there nothing mentioned in the owners manual? Perhaps you could call a main dealer or
indipendant to see if they have any ideas.

But won't it spoil the look of the car?

I only want to put it on when I need to i.e I had to take an old mattress to the tip today. It had to rest on the roof which wasn't ideal. A roof rack would be handy to have in the garage for justy such occasions.

A dealer is an idea, I just hoped someone here may know.

I put one on my 03 X308 XJR as well in the winter for my ski box. Shockingly enough it even gets better gas mileage on then without but that could be related to the longer trips. Anyways not sure if it helps across the pond or not but it is a Thule Rack which is made for guttered cars. I was told to get the high mount for sunroof clearance which is #387 but I would think the lower one would work after getting mine which is #369. I got mine as a kit of ebay so the bars were a little long. Just had to cut them down and reinstall the end plugs. I also have a hitch and if you got space for a small trailer it would work just fine as well and be a little useful IMHO.

Fantastic, thanks. Do you know what length bars I would need?

I'll try to get you a measurement tomorrow. If I don't put it up send me an email in a couple days to remind me. Its my busy season at work and I'm not all there upstairs this time of year.
