Moving from a x308 to a x350 advice please
Discussion
An upgrade? JK I too fancy the 308 a lot more but when I got mine drove a couple of 04-05s. As was stated paint issues and if lookig at an earlier one make sure it comes with the service history as at least stateside they tended to have issues that weren't properly addressed as it seemed the techs were the last to get informed of tsbs.

Have a 2001 xjr but want to upgrade to the newer x350 xjr any advice on what to look out for or what options to go for thanks
Nothing much to look out for really. I had a 1998 XJR, then a 2003 XJR and now a 2007 XJR. There can be some corrosion in the paint , around the edges, but it will be obvious. The 2003 had a few little bits that never got any worse in 3 years, and the 2007 had a bit on the boot and bottom of doors. All fixed under warranty a few months ago.
Other than that, pretty bulletproof. I sold the 2003 with 126K miles on it, no real issues except a little jerk between 1st and second on gentle up changes.
The 2007 has 55K on it now, the Cat's trigger an engine warning every few days as they are not flowing quite enough and will need changing, but no rush. I just bought a reader to clear the codes

And although unsure of the shape when it first came out, I now find myself looking at the older shape as still being very distinctive... but also old fashioned compared to the X350s.
X350s, much , much more modern feel to the drive as you'd expect, you sit more IN the car than the X308s which takes a bit of getting used to.
Just do it
