Hi guys,

I've done so much search but can't find anything so thought I'd ask the educated PH'ers!

My uncle has an XJR (I believe it's a 99 model). He used to have a larger rear plate on his old one but this was written off and he didn't take the plates off of it.

He now has all the paper work for his private plate and wants to order the new plates.

Does anyone know what size rear is required? We obviously can measure it but I know from experience that a few mm's out can make a big difference to the look.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why have you quoted the OP? Is it in doubt to what or who your answer is for?

Why such an inane post? Wasting bandwidth deliberately or are your a genuine ahole?

Elwood is correct. The size is 533mm x 152mm and this usually goes by the (plate manufacturers' code) LP140.

Talking of bandwidth, I'd just have gone out and measured it.

I would say measure the old one too.. I got new plates and didn't think of the size but found the new ones were a good few mm smaller than the old. The new plate did not quite cover some old mounting holes covered with tape which were previously behind the old plate.

You thought there might be a whiff of Chavplate appearing on the forum didn't you wink

I suspect most Jaguar owners wouldn't even contemplate descending to such a level of vulgarity - we're quite content to leave that sort of thing to the German marques.
