I know where you can get one of these extremely cheap, 'out of the box' mint, fully loaded. This is not an advertisement and I am not selling it. If I had the dosh I would be buying. If anyone is interested then post and I will PM you and point you in the right direction. You can make your own mind up.

I will come back to you on this very shortly. As to what is cheap, Webuyanycar would bid approximately £16.5k on this. I think that trade bids are likely to be of this order, because it's not on main dealer's want lists. I would think along the lines of a figure like that, which translates as next to nothing for a car of this quality.

Colour Midnight, with Charcoal leather stitched white and aluminium dash. Heated and cooled seats, naturally.

When I say mint, I mean mint, not 'good for its age', 'top book', 'Condition A1' or any of that old nonsense. I mean mileage negligible, always garaged, perfect and flawless. Hope that helps.

Awesome cars. Mine's the same - X358 2008 but in silver. There aren't too many about - took 6 months to find mine - so whoever buys this could get a lot of car for their money. £80k new, weren't they?

Most of the X358's were 2.7 diesels, you can see on the Jaguar AUC page. I think that they listed at £66k, but the options on this probably added about £4k anyway. It is truly an awesome vehicle, effortlessly fast and capable. I felt that the ride on the 358's suffered because of the 20" wheels, which did look good, but on the other hand the engine seemed to have just that extra bit of fizz, the sport button and the gearbox worked perfectly in synch.

One to have, no doubt, particularly if you remember the John Steed XJC of the 70's. Insurance is not a problem unless you are a whippersnapper or have a poor record, but it fairly drinks the fuel. i would say 18-25 depending on how you use the pedal. Servicing, as with all Jags, isn't bad. IMHO anyway.

I think someone is going to get a cracking deal.

I may be interested, just sold an XJ TDVI and I regret it already, even though it was SWMBO's car. Pics etc would be a bonus.

Reasonable price but completely the wrong colour combo/trim for me. Good luck with the sale!

Best only one person goes for it.

Colour is clearly personal, Midnight Black / Black with 20" alloys has got serious road presence. Midnight is actually a very very dark blue grey. You only see the colour in it in strong sunshine. Anyway, best of luck.

I still think the ride is very good (although my point of reference is not normal, my other car has a rock hard suspension and the missus' car until very recently was a real boneshaker).. and I think the air suspension has a lot to do with that. One big reason for going for the Jag over the alternatives (Audi S8, BMW 7 series) was ride quality. Every review of the BMW and Audi, and especially the Audi, slated the ride as being too harsh for the appalling roads we have here.

On my 2007 XJR, which has the 20" Callisto's fitted, the ride is actually very acceptable.

I also have a 2001 full fat Range Rover that crashes and jiggles and bounces over any road imperefection. By comparison the Jag sails over everything only ever being unruffled by the sharpest of pot holes.
