As per title, i can't clear up whether this vehicle has an electronic open/close bootlid?

Anybody know?

PS i am going to view one tomorrow, would be a nice surprise if it was.

Just looked at the pictures

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2003-JAGUAR-XJ6-3-0-4-DO...

The picture of the boot doesn't suggest it is powered in any way.

The struts look basic.

OP - if by "powered" you mean powered opening and closing, the answer is no. I believe that this feature is not present on any X350s. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong...

My boot certainly it's power opening and close however it is 'soft close' where by you don't have to slam it closed, you just gently lower it and then it will close/lock it the rest of the way, this IS electronic and won't work if the battery is dead.

As above, just soft close. So you basically push it close, and the button on the boot acts as a switch to latch the boot the last few MM's, also you can unlock from the key fob or inside the car. In case of a flat battery there is a good old fashioned keyhole just above the number plate. IMHO Just another thing to fail on an already complex car ...

There are a scary amount of electronics on it (not just Jaguars) and the new ones are even more crazy. My friend works for Mercedes and some of the stories he tells about what goes wrong is just mind boggling.

It's not just a Jaguar thing though, in my opinion there is NO new car that won't have *something* break within the first couple of years ownership, no matter what manufacturer you buy from, this whole 'Japanese/German' reliability is pure myth.

Sure there do appear to be some particularly bad brands but they ALL suffer problems.
