Fantastic isn’t it... being a ex-circuit car, anyone know it... would love to see a picture of it in action;

Cheers

As a former owner , I'm extremely intrigued by and eagerly await this 'further info from the owner who lives abroad'.

Especially interested in his claims of the car's past.
My 'pulling the plug' is an expression that I really am toying with.

Please, please does anybody else know this car? I'll just give a little clue - Cotswold Blue

Sorry for the mystery goodwoodweirdo, only I'm missing something too and that's the car's alleged racing history. This car was well on the way to being fifty years old when it came into my ownership and there was certainly no evidence in the car's set up that suggested to me it had ever been a race car (I mentioned Cotwold Blue in my post just in case it jogged anyone's memory when checking the reg number).
All I can add is yes, the car certainly did have various modifications, but some of these were decidedly dodgy and wouldn't have passed race day scrutineering either 'in period' or now.
During my ownership various 'nips & tucks' were made to make the car safe and MOTable. Most modifications from standard were left as found and either upgraded with modern replacements or simply just refurbished.
However, don't let this missive put you off, as I found it to be a most enchanting car that really was a hoot to drive. It certainly possessed a very 'period feel'. This 'feel' was enhanced by its straight thro' silencers, so one really could imagine its sporting pretensions.

Sorry, it was just about forty years old when I bought it.
My maths let me down in the heat of the moment!

Don't think I've ever seen a Mk 2 race car with a manual overdrive box either. would only be useful on the old full Mulsanne or if you had an extremely short rear axle, way shorter than the usual 3.54 track one.
