center console turns off

Hi all , has any one seen this issue before, Xk8 2007
used it today with the top down and it was great fun,
but after 2hrs the center console turned off and wouldn't turn on again,
so driving around without radio.
got home and locked the car.
waited 10mins and tried it again and its started to work again..
any one seen this before?
