I am going to give my hood a clean after the summer's use.

Any recommendations for the right material to use?

Might also want to post over on the GG TVR forum as they are always cleaning theirs. smile

I used to use the Renovo products, always worked for me.

Use the cheapest washing up liquid you can find, and dilute it lots.

DO NOT use an expensive brand that may contain lanolin, as this will dry with a white residue.

The cheaper the better. Try out of a small area first.

Autoglym do a 2 bottle kit with a sponge.

Bottle 1 is a cleaner
Bottle 2 is a waterproofer

The alternative is washing up liquid (will strip wax off your paintwork) followed by painting on a can of liquid Fabsil.

Probably easier to buy the Autoglym kit from Halfrauds. About £24 i think

The 1st time I used Autoglym, which only includes a cleaner and a sealer, which at the time did a good job, and I had no complaints. From memory about £20 for the set.

Two years later I used Renovo products, a lot more expensive, from memory about £65, but is a three part process including a colour application before sealing.

In my mind it was worth the extra money!

hehe cheeky get.

I just was it with whatever I'm washing the rest of the car with, which is a mixture of Mer Car Shampoo with a couple of caps of Mer Car Polish in. It seems to make a really good job of cleaning and the water beads up very nicely all over.
You could also give it a liberal spraying/painting with Fabsil, but I never bother anymore.
