Door opening problems X type Jag

Hi does any one have any ideas every time Itry to open the doors on my jag it does something diffrent with the fob and key one time open only the back doors next time open the front drivers door nextime no doors also some times cant ope any inside

We had problems with ours, in the end that was the main reason we sold the car

Went through three door procesors, would be OK for a while then come mack again



One of the problems we had (it was an estate) was when you unlocked only the drivers door would open, drive a 100 yards or so and the rest would then unlock

Problem was if we I or Vic was out with the dogs, what to do with them while you went through that process before you could get the dogs in

I've experienced problems with the doors locking/unlocking setting alarm off on my x type 2006.
What you need to do is go to your local dealer or Jaguar specialist and get them to plugin their diagnostic machine, it records all failed lockings/unlocks and pinpoints source.
I originally thought my problem was the drivers door lock, after invetigation it was found to be the front passenger door,activator. The little electric activators can overtime get wet and the contacts break, thus when you lock your car with key or fob, the whole electric circuit for the door locking routine is incomplete
and can cause the car to unlock itself set the alarm off etc.
A new activator is over £100, but you can buy them off the web or scrapyards(plenty of x's scrapped), they will need professionally fitting unless you have the correct tools for removing the door trim and are useful with car electrics.

Door trim tools = screwdriver and a credit card sized piece of hard plastic. Do it when warm to avoid broken clips. I can do mine in a couple of minutes.
