Was white an option? I've seen only one pic of an early XKR coupe (actually might've been XK) in white running polished rim black centre 20" alloys and black body accenting - looked fantastic! Struggling to get excited with the colours I'm seeing for sale at the mo...

Is there a definitive list anywhere?

I don't think so - 20in wheels certainly weren't available on early models.

IIRC, launch colours were (not the official names) light blue, dark blue, maroon, dark green and gold - all metallics. Oh, and I guess there must have been a silver too.

Bugger! It looks so good as well - found it again - attached. (Arden kit?)

No, I realise the 20's are aftermarket - just daydreaming about what's next really and these seem to be a good performance/budget/reliability balancing act (and comfortable as I'm getting a bit of an old boy these days!).

Missing mine Anthracite (black), Carnival Red, Titanium (silver) ,above may be Ice Blue, Antigua Blue, Saphire Blue, Amaranth (purple), Sherwood Green, Topaz (gold), Solid colours Britsh Racing Green and Pheonix Red.

Aquamarine was an option as was white but I do not think for the UK although I have seen XKs in these colours

The car was so good looking before anyone set about modifying it. Now the nose looks weird, the side skirts are stuck on and unnecessary, the bonnet vents look like holes, the wheels are truly chronic. Do you really want to have a top class GT car and rather than get it properly sorted out, stick all that, imho, tacky charva stuff, on it?

I guess you're not keen on Zeemax then! I don't think you could call that car chavvy - you may not be keen but chavvy?!!

XKracer - is that a Paragon kit then?

I like the early shape in combination with properly lowered stance & large dished alloys (don't like flush face wheels). I think that white is the best colour I've seen on the early shape (but I am partial to the primrose yellow Zeemax wide body though).

I am already cluing myself up on pulley swaps, cat back straight through systems, the slack throttle linkage issue and worrying about nikasil before I've even started looking! My mates are already ribbing me about tartan blanket, pipe and slippers . . .

No its an Arden kit, an early one as well, the rear bumpers are blended now I believe instead of an added on apron.

Not a fan of the Arden kits myself (well I would say that wink) they look to "add on", I did the engine work and under bonnet fix up, it was a mess, it was still silver, some of it had been done with a paint brush, runs and brush hairs, was not pretty. It was originally an accident damaged car and whoever welded the front up needs lessons on how to use a MIG

Once finished looked like this, I wont post the before pics eek

I actually quite like the Zeemax wide body, I have one coming in at the end of January for under bonnet, brake and suspension work.. Not keen on the standard Zeemax kit that looks to Veilside all vents and edges

Very smart!

As I couldn't find any, how can I put it, "more vibrant" colours on XK's I had a mess around in Photoshop to see how the XK shape reacts to lary colours. I think the results are "interesting" but in all honesty the only ones that actually work for me are white, the pale yellow and full on yellow. Non of which are available as stock colours so I'm looking at a colour change if I want to consider an XKR (I realise the purists will be shaking in their armchairs!).

BTW, anyone got any ideas what wheels are on this XKR? (nicked the pic off ebay from 2001 XKR for sale at 6 and a quarter)

So white or shade of yellow I guess!

I think that what does it in for me is the altered front air intake. The standard car looks better - that nose looks modified, and not in a good way. The rest I could live with.

As a measure of how good the standard car looks, I think that all of the colours shown above work.

And I totally concede. Having photoshopped the above I much prefer 'my' white one versus the kitted one - I guess that original photo just showed me that white could work well with the shape.

Still would love to know what type of wheels those are on the car below (I added the spinners just for a touch of retro - should've really gone 2 eared tbh)
