Jaguar XKR with flat battery
Discussion
Stored an XKR in local barn for partner's son who works in Rhiyadh (lucky fellah!!)
Battery has gone completely flat. Can open the car with the key but not the boot. Guess where battery is - right, in the boot! Any suggestions on how to access/get into boot to recharge the battery please? Tks in anticipation!!
Supplementary, it is LHD and not many km on clock. Where would good place be to advertise for sale? Regards, Philip

Tks all the suggestions so far.
Handbook is................in the boot! If someone has a handbook, is there a boot release in the cabin?
No, badge doesn't have keyhole in it like XJR
Will look for hidden keyhole.
No, back seats don't appear to fold down
Ah well, down to trying to find a positive terminal under thebonnet that won't blow the ECU's.

A quick google of 'XKR jump start' yielded some good results - do you have an internet connection?
One answer was "You need a beefy battery ie 100aH, Lorry type ideal. Two decent jumb leads. Attach positive to fuse box under in engine bay ( There is a covered positive terminal next to it, has a rubber removable cap. Find a decent earth point in bay. Connect it up and it should start and open up the boot!! "
Another (on the same page) "ON the right side below tail light is the XK8 or R logo. A keyhole is in the left side of the logo to give access to the Trunk (boot in your case)"

Is the XKR positive earth or negative earth for when I connect under bonnet? Makes a difference to blowing ECU!!
Negative. If you connect to the battery you'll see it is marked with a + (usually a red wire is attached to this one) and the other side has a -.
Bear in mind a flat battery quite often dies completely, and if not it will have a much reduced life - car batteries _hate_ going flat. I.e. be prepared to buy a new battery if this one seems sluggish after you have used the car for a bit.
The start of the blog shows I can't get into boot as battery is flat, and boot is where the battery is!! I am aware the positive is always marked red, but difficult to see which goes to earth when you can't open the boot!!
Will now try suggestions to connect under the bonnet sufficiently to energise locks so can take out battery for full charge. Being of the older kind, I rememeber lead acid batteries benefit from discharge to remove memory. Just hope the plates haven't sulphated too much.

hi
needed to do this with my neighbours car
" his " no. plate was attached with double sided tape ( the big oval one?) prise this off, and there is a keyhole.
The key is in the keyless entry fob
This opens the boot
The battery is behind the cover, jump start as usual, terminals are clearly marked
Had no issues at all once started

You are a star, sir!! Small hole in XKR badge is key operated lock. So easy when you know how. Battery brought home to charge. When full, will recycle the charge a couple of times to de-sulphate the plates.
Many thanks to all for the suggestions and comments
Anyone want to buy LHD XKR with a fully charged battery??
