Has this happened to anyone else ?I got home from shopping today and noticed that the the plastic strip, sort of a baffle, below the radiator on my 2000 model XJ8 was missing. Stolen, fallen off, or broken off is a mystery. I retraced my route, some 150 klm mostly out of curiosity but without success. I have ordered a new one which I will have to have sprayed to match the car. But what a Mickey Mouse fitting. It only just clips in and is very flimsy.Surely I can't be the first person to have experienced this problem.i would have thought that a car costing this amount of money would have a more satisfactory solution to attatch this plastic vane which I think is only cosmetic and is removed if the car is towed. tell me I'm not Robinson Crusoe.

Yes, mine wobbles a bit when I wash it.

I think there was supposed to be a similar part on my XJ8. The specialist I use for servicing advised that it was missing (I couldn't tell) but also said it serves no purpose other than being aesthetic and is often left off after replacing the radiator. Something that mine had had done just prior to me buying the car.

timolloyd. in case your'e interested I bought a repacement part from Jaguar for $230 (Australian) but I had to spend another #60 to have it sprayed to match the car. The part however arriver without the 3 clips to attatch it so that cost another #12....but the story doesn't end there. They were either ther wrong clips or were missing washers because they didn't put put any tension on th e vane to hold it the car....so I didn't bother complaining at this stage I just got some small nuts and bolts which worked perfectly. The part is now more secure than it was originally and certainly worth the effort for aesthetic purposes.

Replace with the Mesh insert from Adamesh, about £180 and no need to paint it!!!
