S Type alarm problems
Discussion
Hi all, can anyone help with regard to the thread title?
I have a three litre manual S Type, '99 model, with the standard manufacturers alarm/immobiliser, & over the last few days it has randomly gone off, seemingly for no reason. Is anyone aware of any known problems of this sort, or come across it themselves & knows how to cure it?
Cheers,
Brook.

I had this on my 2005 S Type, it is a known problem at least that's what my local Jag dealers told me. The problem is that the brains of the alarm are in the front bumper and get wet!
IIRC there are 3 things that can go wrong 2 are cheap to fix and 1 expensive, of course mine was the expensive problem, I think my bill was about £360 plus vat, but that was Main dealer prices.

Just an update to put this to bed, the alarm problem has vanished without me doing anything at all. Only lasted a few days & only when I was parked up at home, never elsewhere, so can only assume the wind blowing through the gap between the flat & the garage was enough to trigger it.
