Other than the xk120 replicas cant find anybody that uses the xj40/aj6 for a basis of a kit car, back in the 60's and 70's rusty old s types were transformed in to Kougars and Ronarts but nobody seems to do any thing for the xj40. I have a lovely 4.0 litre manual that in something half its weight would be quite a lively car, mechanically these things are bullet proof, spares are cheap and a good donor vehicle a few hundred pounds. It seems the angle of the engine and exhaust position may be an issue but it seems a shame to scrap these cars when the rust takes hold.

Keep the Forty alive!! If it's an XJ6 4.0 manual you have then there's only 15 left on the road. http://howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/jaguar_xj6_4.0 XJ40's are disappearing at an alarming rate, rarer than E Types now but no one cares, sad. I've a '40 Sovereign 3.6 manual, could well be the only example of this variant left, certainly the only '89.

Yes definately!! Don't kill the poor old '40!!! XJ40 is right, they're hardly any manuals left.

Few seem to care about the demise of the XJ40, strange since it was once so admired. frown
