Jag S-type quandry.

My Boss has a Jag S-type. Its been off the road for a while and hence the battery it totally flat.

The boot is opened electronically so cannot be opened.

The battery is in the boot!

How can this be resolved!

Not too familar with the S Type layout but the XJ from the same era has a +ve terminal on the main fusebox under the bonnet. Connect a battery to this and an engine earth and you will have power to open the boot.

Other option may be to connnect a trickle charger to the cigar lighter to power up with.

You should be able to open the boot with the key. If you look where the number plate lights are, there should be a key hole in that area. (This is certainly the case with the final facelift models).
