Folding back seats in the XF
Discussion
It was standard on the original model but became an option in the 2009 facelift. Really confused me when I was test driving a 2011 car.
If you check over on the xf forums I am pretty sure although they are an option; that the folding mechanism is present on all cars and you can release the seats by lying in the boot. I also understand that all you need is to buy the handles from Jaguar and you can retro fit it quite easily (probably less than it costs for the option!).

I may be incorrect, I don't think I specced them on my 2011 XF D (the base spec, luxury?), but they are fitted. I checked, they are not on my original vehicle order form either. If you check over on the xf forums I am pretty sure although they are an option; that the folding mechanism is present on all cars and you can release the seats by lying in the boot. It might be that certain models did not have them if they have fancy seats (like the XFR?), but the basic spec ones did, but I'm sure someone will be along shortly who can answer for certain!
My XFR certainly has split folding seats and they were not an option.
There should be 2 handles attached to cables to pull, one on each side, high up just under the parcel shelf - like pulling a choke if you are old enough to remember them!
Only other thought is perhaps you could spec no folding seats eg if you opt for a ski hatch instead - but that's just a guess.

Thanks for that. I do remember pull chokes, and being incredibly confused when I drove my first auto-choke.There should be 2 handles attached to cables to pull, one on each side, high up just under the parcel shelf - like pulling a choke if you are old enough to remember them!

I even remember driving my first car with five gears. I borrowed it off my pal in Germany and drove 600 miles in fourth.
