Ive just seen a 61 plate jag estate by my house (near gaydon) and it looked like an XF estate. The only estate i knew of was the old x type.

Anyone know much about it?

XF Sportbrake.

The rumours lasted years, and there were stories not too long ago all over the motoring press about it's release. Even here on PH. I thought it was June it was released, but it wouldn't be too odd to see one about I guess.

Thats the one. It was silver too. It was a big ol thing, as you would expect. Rhd, with uk plates.

Ive seen the f-type a number of times too, but normally covered in its black n white camo.

I had to double take when i saw it was an estate. The back was very rounded. I'll keep an eye out for it and maybe get a pic.

Is there an AWD version? My x type estate AWD is brilliant!

Not for the UK as far as I have been told.

There will be a AWD version for North America and selected markets, don't think UK demand would be high enough to justify the investment.

What a huge shame. When I change mine it will have to be an audi awd estate then. I don't know if I can go downmarket

While that's a large part of the investment, there are still market specific costs. For example there may be additional work needed to adapt it to a RHD vehicle, country specific homologation, regulations approval, testing, etc. Ensuring parts supply and training structure is setup. Etc, etc, when releasing expensive complex products it's rarely as simple as just putting the item on the shop floor.

The dilemma for the manufacturer is will all the trouble yield significant new sales or just cannibalise existing sales.

But India is a RHD market.
JLR have seen a massive push into Asia, has this not included India?

Firstly will they be offering AWD in India or any RHD market for that matter. Secondly The hoops they have to jump through before being able to release an AWD variant will be significantly different from country to country.
