Daimler seats

hi...starting to look tentatively again at another Daimler, Six or DS (last owned an XJ40 DDS a few years ago). I don't do huge mileage ( I work in IT from home) so mpg is not a problem.

For what purpose is the elasticated pocket in the front of the seats?

I used to keep hi-viz waistcoats for emergencies in the ones on the Daimler I had...

Mine was an XJ40 Daimler 4.0 - had it nearly 10 years
