I'm going to look at a 2008 4.2 XF tomorrow. I have already had a "quick" look at it and it seems fine. I was wondering if the knowledgeable amongst you could point out anything that deserves special attention?

Thanks.

Engine wise, not much.

Make sure it changes gear without hesitation or jerkiness, and no untowards noises.

Check EVERYTHING thats electrically powered works. There's lots smile

The XF, like the S-type they're based on, can be heavy on suspension components and especially bushes, so listen out for any clonks whilst underway.

Nice cars, and no more expensive to run than the diesel when you factor in purchase price, fuel prices, and drivetrain reliability.

Good luck.
