Reprogram the gearbox??

Hi guys

Does anyone know if the 6 speed ZF in my 2003 STR can be reprogramed to pull away in 2nd?

My other car has a 5 speed tip-tronic and does this, which actually makes pulling away smoother.

My son tells me RR also do it!

On my XJR, 1st only gets used if Sport mode is selected. Does the STR not have a similar operation?

Not sure I'll have to try it again on a quiet road, but I think it always starts in 1st when in sport or eco mode.

I know these boxes had the dreaded jerking problem when new, wonder if this got reprogramed to cure it back then?
Mine seems to change up immediately if I pull off gently, which is a pain normally as I have to just feather the throttle most of the time.

Otherwise it just blasts off as an STR should??
