XK8 Alarm

The alarm in my car is far too sensitive, a common problem I believe. Am I correct in assuming that if I lock the car with the key then the alarm does not activate ?.

It may depend which XK8 you have, my '03 still has the alarm if locked with the key. The advice I got from the dealer was that a single press on the lock on the fob would not set the alarm - it certainly doesn't seem to set it off when the dog is in the car whilst locking it with the key does. Haven't tried double locking it with him inside the car!

Thanks Andy. Mine's a 2004 reg built in 2003 and unfortunately it still goes off with just one press of the button.
