Just us then eh Geoff?

You pictures look much better than mine - I appreciate I'm no photographer and just have a (relatively decent) compact camera but your car looks a different, much more vivid colour! You picture looks more like the colour of my car than my own picture of my own car
Did you do anything to the photo to make the colour look deeper or is it just my my light conditions / crappy photographic skills?

Oh dear 1st real problem today.
A week or so ago the "Service" indicator came on. So i rang my dealer as clearly it shouldn't be on. The car only having covered 2000 since i had it in May. Well i took it in today and an hour later was told "all done..just needed to reset it". Drove to my office no problem. 3 hours later i get in the car to drive home and the Communication Screen went black. No phone, no GPS, no air con, no radio, ipod no nothing. Completely dead. Then a flash of the Jaguar logo but nothing. My dealer says call Jaguar Roadside Assistance...."we don't work after 9pm and can't get to you tonight". So they are coming tomorrow where according to the engineer that called me all he needs to do is disconnect the battery then reconnect the battery and that will reboot the onboard computer. What puzzles me is why the B****y mechanic at the dealers couldn't do it in the first place!!! Any one else had a similar problem??

What stands out for me in that story is the service offered by Jaguar Roadside Assistance. It strikes me as extremely poor that they did not get out to you the same night, especially considering you have purchased their flagship vehicle!A week or so ago the "Service" indicator came on. Hope they were able to fix it for you today as easily as described.
I was told ...sorry we don't work after 8..is it an emergency ..if so we will get the AA out to you. Well im lucky it was on my drive and today they turned up when they said they would. Plugged in the laptop...."hmmmm haven't seen that code before. Right, we will reset the computer and see how it goes". 5 minutes later all done and laptop closed. "If you get the same problem again here is the code". The guys where very nice but couldn't understand why the main computer system crashed. Anyway..took the CAT out this afternoon and good as new. Very strange.
Funnily enough my comms screen went blank this evening for a period of time. I was actually polishing the car in my garage and got a bit of a surprise when the lights turned themselves on (ooooh....spooky
).
After that, the screen wouldn't work and after reading this thread I contemplated disconnecting the battery to reset it. It sorted it self out in the end though so all a bit bizarre....I thought it was only Italian electrics that were dodgy (arrgghh - don't get me started on Italian cars
)

I quite like red on black. What's the exterior colour? Would be good with white.
It's Ultimate Black with Speed Pack and Black Pack so quite moody exterior with a bright interior.Have done a Polaris White XKR convertible with Black and Speed packs and the same Red Zone interior. It really did look the t!ts

I have got this one waiting to de delivered tomorrow:

On a slightly different note, what do people think of this interior? Too much?

Ooooh look, it's my car again! Getting a bit commen eh!?!?

Oh, and look.....it's the interior of my old car
Yep, seriously...here's my 'old' XKR's interior :
And this was the colour of the outside:

I chose that black/red combo on my first XKR because it wasn't all-black and it was a toss up between that and an Italian Racing Red with Tan interior....I reckon the tan looked the classier but to me it felt an 'older' combination and slightly wrong on a Jaguar (red and tan just seem at their best on Italian cars IMO)
After having had both the red and the now black interior, I do reckon the red is by far the flashier but it also looks the 'cheaper' of the two - I have to say I love the blue piping and stitching of my XKR-S which sets off the interior nicely and it all looks very expensive inside.
I notice the R-S in the above pictures has the Alcantara steering wheel option, something I wasn't sure about at first so didn't spec it. However, after subsequently seeing one I instantly regretted not ordering it. Fear not though, they;re available separately and I'm having one fitted this week
