I am looking to replace my current car (2005 mustang GT) and quite fancy either an XK or preferably, an XKR.

It seems the XKR isn't too much more to buy or insure, the problem is I am getting stupidly high insurance quotes for both cars. So far the best has been £2900 on the xkr (I only paid 1100 on my Mustang).

I'm aware that a car like this at my age (24) is never going to be cheap to insure, but with 6 years no claims, no accidents and just one sp30 from two years ago, I hardly expected it to be sky high.

I did get one quote of around £1500 fully comp but it involved fitting a box that monitors how you drive/what time you drive etc so not too keen on that idea.

I just want to know if there is anyone else on here driving one of these and which insurance company you used?

Before deciding on a jag I looked at either an m3 or a 911, both of which are more 'performance orientated' then the jag, and both were in the 1500 - 2000 price bracket.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Try Lifesure, I pay under £500 for a 2008 XK cabrio fully comp (4 decades clean licence and full NCB)But at under 25 you will unfortunately have your premium loaded due to your age.....
